General Meetings

From ASH

Jump to: navigation, search
ASH holds a monthly general meeting for all members and prospective members. We usually cover club business and then have an educational presentation or speaker. All members are encouraged to bring their homebrewed beers to share. If you do not brew then bring an interesting quality beer to share with the group. Also, food is available and there is a raffle of various beer items and paraphernalia at every meeting.

Meetings are open to the public. If you are interested in joining the club, have any interest in homebrewing or quality beer in general, come to a future meeting and meet others in the club who share your interests.

All General Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month unless it is necessary to accommodate a special speaker. However, in lieu of a meeting in December, the membership holds their annual pot-luck Holiday Party. Also, The October meeting is usually an informal gathering at a convenient location to collect memberships sold solely for Oktoberfest.

Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at :
Del Sol Reception Hall, 243 S Mesa Dr, Mesa, AZ 85210 (map)

December Meeting

Due to the holidays and our members busy schedules, there is no general meeting in December. The Holiday Party is the only time the group will meet until the first general meeting in 2009. That meeting is scheduled for January 20th.

  • The fourth and final round entries for the Homebrewer of the Year were collected. See the HBOY link for details.
  • Third round entries for the AHA Club-Only Competition were due. Unfortunately, no one brought any. For a group that frequently describes themselves as 'Hop-Heads' this is disappointing.
  • Ron Kloth spoke on the upcoming DRAFT Big Pour and his recent visit to Cerveceria de Baja California, the producers of Cucapá Beer.
  • Brad Neufuss won the Homebrew of the Month contest by a landslide with his brown ale. Look for it in the recipe database and the next newsletter.
